Why choose a 2-wheel trailer? (instead of a one-wheel trailer) One wheel trailers have some advantages, the main one being the better following on single track trails. For everything else two wheelers are much more practical. The main advantage is that the load is on the trailer and not on the cyclist's hands. On a one-wheel model the weight always balances out on the bike. This means stress on the frame, always. All rear arms defects we had with world travelers on Optima bikes were due to one wheel trailers. This is why we got into the production of our own trailer. In high speed curves, during crosswinds or quick manoevers, two-wheel based trailers are much safer. One wheelers affect your steering. And they may be narrower but they do have a much longer wheelbase, more difficult to control. Furthermore as the weight of your load is divided over 2 wheels, your wheels will not dig in as easily in soft sand or mud as with a 1 wheeler. Other pratical features are easy to apprehend : Try to hook up alone a one wheel trailer to your bike when there is no wall or tree in sight. Try to walk with your one wheel trailer without your bike, you can't. A two wheel trailer stands by itself handy, upright, next to your camping site.

Why choose a trailer? (instead of bags or panniers) The gravity center of your bike is lower than on a bike with panniers and rack, equals more safety. Volume : panniers can not equal the volume of a trailer, like the Quikpak. Many voluminous items are too bulky for your bags. Sleeping bags and pads, clothes and water load are easier to store. The riding experience of your bike is hardly influenced by a trailer, while a heavy loaded bike may cause all sorts of hazardous reactions in quick manoevers or with side winds. Most of all, you enhance the lifetime of your bike as the trailer causes zero stress on your frame structure or on your racks.
